"I am a 6th grader and I have attended Walden Green since 1st grade. My parents chose Walden Green Montessori because it is a different learning experience. It has phenomenal teachers that care about you. Also, it’s mostly hands on, just how kids like it. Walden Green is special to me because it’s a different school with fun activities while learning. I have an organized work plan and can control what I chose to work on. We interact with our teachers daily and they help us- and everyone knows each other. I love that Walden Green has materials to work with and two teachers in a classroom. There are also 2 years in a class so you can interact with people of different ages- like adults do at their jobs. Our playground is a beautiful forest where children build forts and use their imagination. We also have Mac desktops, laptops, and iPads to help us create, design, and present some projects. Montessori Education is unique because it is hands on and you have freedom of choice within limits. I think this is how kids learn best. At Walden Green, you are independent and you learn how to manage your time there. Walden Green has helped me grow in love, peace, hope, and getting ready for life and jobs. It has helped me gain confidence in reading, math, friends, and presenting in front of people. It has helped me have fun while learning, become a better problem solver and communicator, and become more creative and responsible. I would recommend Walden Green to other kids because most of the kids there treat each other kindly, with respect. We also stay in the same room for all subjects. Walden Green has prepared me for my future by doing projects that require real life skills and to be creative and think outside of the box. The teachers make sure you understand what you are doing and how you answer your questions."

"I am a 7th grader and I have attended Walden Green since 1st grade. My parents chose Walden Green because the kids can progress more at their own pace and the teachers are great to learn from. Walden Green is special to me because you can get personal help from the teachers and students. I have great memories with teachers and friends. I love that Walden Green has super nice kids to be around and be friends with. I have plenty of time to turn in our classroom work. The school has nice Mac desktops and laptops. Montessori Education is unique because they have plenty of material to help you. You don’t have to sit in desks, don’t have to change class every 45 minutes, you have hands-on work, and instead of many tests, the teachers like to help build onto your knowledge. Walden Green has helped me be a more independent person, prepared for the future, and be responsible for my actions. I would recommend Walden Green to other kids because you learn how to cooperate and collaborate with others you like and don’t like. Finally, Walden Green has prepared me for my future by being academically prepared. We work on every subject at challenging levels."

"I am a 6th grader and I have attended Walden Green since Kindergarten. My parents chose Walden Green Montessori because they knew some people who sent their daughter here and they said it was a great school. Also, my parents knew some of the teachers, so they felt comfortable sending me here. Walden Green is special to me because I have been able to build great friendships. I love the multi-age groups in the classes and hands-on materials. We have a forest for a playground which helps us use our imagination. It is easy to make friends. Most of all, I love the teachers. Montessori Education is unique because you don’t have to sit in desks. You can work on different things than others at different times. We learn time management and independence. Walden Green has helped me become more prepared for real life situations, helped me have more confidence when speaking in front of a crowd, have fun while working, and have better problem solving skills. I would recommend Walden Green to other kids because it’s a great learning environment, there’s a good mix of different personalities, and you stay in one room for different subjects."

"I am a 5th grader and I have attended Walden Green for 5 years. My parents chose Walden Green Montessori because they liked the idea of Montessori Education. Walden Green is special to me because all my friendships began here. The teachers are very nice to me. The work is not too hard and not easy. This school is not very big, it’s a K-8th grade school. I love that Walden Green has a unique system, a wide open environment, you are able to work at your own pace, and there are multi-age classrooms. Montessori Education is unique because they have no desks, you’re able to work at your own pace, there are no letter grades that pressure you, and the teachers will help you if you are having trouble. Walden Green has helped me learn how to work in a group and make new friends due to the fact of the small community. I would recommend Walden Green to other kids because it has a good program to have fun while working. Walden Green has prepared me for my future by encouraging creativity, teaching me how to be responsible, have passion, and how to work well with others."

"I am a 6th grader and I have attended Walden Green since Kindergarten. My parents chose Walden Green Montessori because they asked me if I wanted to go here or another school and I said I wanted to go to Walden Green for something different. Walden Green is special to me because the teachers take the time to build relationships with the students. I love that Walden Green has unique materials to help me solve problems. If I was at a public school, I don’t know how well I would do because all I would get is basically a book and pencil. Montessori Education is unique because it allows you to travel and learn at your own pace and get help from teachers and students. Walden Green has helped me by preparing me for real life situations and helping me for the future that is ahead. I would recommend Walden Green to other kids because there is a GREAT mix of students! Also, the teachers all have different personalities, so... one teacher may be better for you than the other. Walden Green has prepared me for my future by gaining confidence in many things and learning to become a responsible young adult."

"I am a 5th grader and I have attended Walden Green for 4 years. My parents chose Walden Green Montessori because it was a small school that I could learn at my own pace and transition from homeschooling. Also, I could learn more that just academics, and make lots of nice friends. Walden Green is special to me because the teachers take time with you and help you to become a better person, not just academically. I love that Walden Green has teachers and materials there to help you and you call the teachers by their first names. There are also 2 teachers and multiple grades in each classroom. Montessori Education is unique because you don’t have to sit in a desk, you can move around and learn with materials and high tech laptops and iPads. Walden Green has helped me learn to be a better person. It also helped me overcome most of my shyness. I gained confidence in presenting, and became academically prepared. I would recommend Walden Green to other kids because they will learn to love learning and feel more confidence in their learning skills. Walden Green has prepared me for my future by teaching me confidence, respect, and being a creative thinker."

"I am a 5th grader and I have attended Walden Green for 4 years. My parents chose Walden Green Montessori because this school allowed me to learn at my own pace. Other school would hold me back. Walden Green is special to me because I get individual help from teachers rather that being told just to know it. I love that Walden Green has multiple teachers in a classroom to help kids. Montessori Education is unique because you don’t have to sit at a desk, doing one thing at a time in your head all day. Walden Green has helped me prepare for situations that will happen in the 'real world'. I would recommend Walden Green to other kids because they encourage you to learn and go ahead of others to become academically prepared. Walden Green has prepared me for my future by teaching me everything I need to know from creativity to helping others and everything in between."

"I am a 4th grader and I have attended Walden Green since Kindergarten. My parents chose Walden Green Montessori because it was a small school and it allowed me to work at my own pace. The Montessori classroom makes it easier for me to learn. I can touch and see the work with materials and make my own discoveries. Walden Green is special to me because the teachers help me understand better and we have pretty sweet field trips. I love that Walden Green has two teachers in every classroom. Also, there are several grades in a class. Montessori Education is unique because you get to move around a lot and not sit at a desk most of the day. I would recommend Walden Green to other kids because it is fun and has helped me get a lot better in math and the teachers are always proud of your accomplishments. Walden Green has prepared me for my future by doing real life projects that help me become more creative."

"I am an 8th grader and I have attended Walden Green for 4 years. My parents chose Walden Green Montessori because it was more hands on and some of their friends’ kids went there and it was highly recommended by them. They thought it looked cool because you can work more individually, yet also have times of group work. Walden Green is special to me because the teachers make the work more interesting than at other schools. I can learn from my mistakes rather than someone telling me what to always do. I love that Walden Green has a peaceful working environment with two teachers in every classroom and multiple ages in each class.  Montessori Education is unique because it has a very respectful and cooperative working environment. Students have independence on what they choose to work on and the teachers are quite supportive. Walden Green has helped me get ready for the future in how to use the best of my time. It’s important to learn this at a young age. I would recommend Walden Green to other kids because it has such a unique learning society with a nice mix of students- all with different personalities. I know I’ve appreciated the individual time to learn. Walden Green has prepared me for my future by helping me become a confident, competent learner. The teachers strive to make sure I know how and why I’ve reached my answers."

"I send my kids to Walden Green Montessori for many reasons. First, I wanted an alternative to traditional education. I like that Montessori education is a hands-on learning experience, everything from math to language is taught using 'works' that kids master on their own. When you observe a classroom at Walden Green you will see kids actively learning without a teacher standing at the front of the room and kids sitting at desks. Secondly, I like that our kids are not bringing tons of homework home and do not routinely take tests. On average, our kids maybe spend one hour a week on homework. As a parent, I love this. We have time to spend enjoying our kids at home not drilling them to memorize facts and doing homework every night. Several big projects a year do come home and we enjoy working on these projects with our kids. When our kids do take 'standardized tests' they are placing above grade level. Lastly, we love the culture of the school. Walden Green kids are confident in who they are, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the teachers and director are passionate about teaching our children to reach their highest potential." - Walden Green Parent

“I have two children at Walden Green Montessori, a second and third grader. They have been attending since kindergarten. I can't imagine considering another school! The staff are dedicated and involved with the children and truly have their best interests at heart. They guide the children socially and give them opportunities to explore topics that interest them. This school does not teach to the average, rather each child is able to progress at their own pace in a judgement-free, supportive environment. My children are being taught to love learning rather than being taught the answers to a test. Children can sit on the floor and move their bodies-which is so good for them physically- rather than be stuck behind a desk all day. I feel confident that WGM supports my children and plays a major role in their growth into unique individuals. Thank you WGM for all you do for the next generation!” - Walden Green Parent

“Walden Green is an excellent school that meets the child where they are and assist them in achieving academically. My daughter is in her fifth year and I am beyond pleased of her academic growth and love for learning. The Walden Green Community creates a learning community that allows the students to explore and take ownership of the learning. I would highly recommend Walden Green Montessori to family and friends.”   - Walden Green Parent

“Excellent teaching practices- like the child-led Montessori techniques, making it a joy for children to learn and grow. Also like the size of the school- small enough to be able to get to know the staff and some other parents, but large enough to have a diverse group- and small class sizes! I feel like each student, including my own daughter, gets a lot of personal attention.” - Walden Green Parent

“My son and my daughter have been attending Walden Green since 2010 an 2011. Both love the Montessori environment. Walden Green has nurtured and fostered their intrinsic desire to learn and explore. The ability to move freely throughout their school day, work with others, the possibility to choose their own works during a 3 hour work cycle, and the opportunity to teach (and learn from) their peers in a multi-age classroom has turned my children into self-motivated, respectful, creative and curious learners. The Montessori environment with its wonderful materials, caring teachers who meet my children where they are at and its freedom paired with responsibility has been a great fit for my children. I highly recommend Walden Green Montessori!” - Walden Green Parent

“Walden Green Montessori has been a phenomenal place for our children to grow and learn. A Montessori education produces creative, resourceful, independent kids who know how to reach and challenge themselves. They understand community and personal as well as social responsibility. A tuition free Montessori school is a complete gift! So happy we found it and so grateful to be a part of such a great community of families as well!” - Walden

"My children have grown so much at Walden Green. The entire community from the students to the staff are so welcoming and loving. It is such a warm environment to be a part of, this is coming from someone who is quite anxious around others. I always feel comfortable and safe with the Walden Green Family-this really says a lot. The children learn so much more about life, community, communication, practical application, plants, how things work, how to think and ask questions, are able to explore and wonder, and so much more all while exceeding the required standards of learning. They learn their math skills by using real life applications, opposed to just memorizing facts. This is exciting to watch and see how fast their little minds catch on, especially when you have had one child who went through the process in the standard/traditional public school system. It is wonderful to see them grow and love learning. We went from my little one crying every single day before and after school to asking if she could go to school over the weekend the very first week she started attending Walden Green. We transferred mid-year and the change was almost night and day. One of my children used to have moderate needs for accommodations due to a disorder that interrupts her learning and functioning; but the safety, acceptance, and encouragement from her amazing teacher allowed her to gain confidence and acclimate to her body, surroundings, and needs. She was able, with some guidance at first, to self regulate and now can remain inside the classroom for the entire day and adjusts to changes much easier. She no longer has major meltdowns after school, she socializes well with others (non-existent before), she stands up for herself and her needs, and she smiles so much! I LOVE seeing her enjoying herself; laughing, talking, playing with her friends at school! It is such a relief to have this as an option. Since it is a public/charter Montessori school, it is free, so we can afford to take the kids there. They still have to take the mandatory tests, but the school doesn't focus on that at all. The students don't "study" or prep for the tests like they had to for weeks in the past in other schools. The teacher just sends us an email to the parents asking that the kids have a good night's rest, a nice healthy breakfast, and a book to read. We are about a twenty minute drive out, but Walden Green Montessori is completely worth it. I would recommend it to anyone I cared about and to anyone who cares about their children and their children's education." - Walden Green Parent
