Special Education Services
A small, single-building district like Walden Green is equipped to serve mild to moderate learning disabilities, social/emotional/behavioral barriers, speech challenges, and some OT/PT needs. However, for more intensive services, schools of our size typically do not have specialized programming such as self-contained classrooms. We have a special education resource room for teachers who provide services, instruction and accommodations as written in their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Additionally, we have part-time consultants for Social Work, Speech, and Occupational Therapy.
If your child currently receives special education programs and/or services through an IEP and you are comfortable sharing a copy of the current IEP with us, it would be very helpful for our team to review it so that we can better understand your child's strengths, needs, current supports, and services. Our request to review the IEP is not part of the process for determining your child's eligibility for enrollment. Rather, it helps us prepare to meet your child's individual needs and ensure continuity of appropriate special education programs and services should your child enroll.
For further inquiries regarding special education programming and services at Walden Green, please contact the following WGM team members and attach a copy of your child’s IEP (if available):
